January

March

  • 03/02 Napa Valley Marathon.  This is a beautiful one way course through the Napa vineyards which starts in Calistoga and ends in Napa.  The course is mostly flat with a hills in near the beginning and end of the marathon.  Beginning marathoners can take advantage of our marathon training which starts in October 1999 and gradually works up to the marathon distance in March.
  • 03/08 Solvang Century.  A neat century that starts in a danish town.  It's about a 6 hour drive fromt tbe bay area.
  • 03/29 Solvang Double Century.  A beautiful reltively flat double out to Morro Bay.  The rest stops are infrequent, but are stocked with ample supplies of technical food.

April

  • 04/5 Tierra Bella Century.  The century takes you through Gilroy and the surrounding areas with a 60, 100, and 127 mile option.

  • 04/?? Primavera Century.    This is the century put on by the Fremont Freewheelers.  We usually do the 100/60 mile option followed by a 10 mile run.

  • 04/?? Top Hat Classic. Last year we signed up during the day of the event.

 

May

  • 05/05-07 Wildflower Triathlon.  This is the first club triathlon of the season.  Members will be competing in the mountain bike sprint/ olympic/ and half Ironman distance events.  The club normally camps with their families at Lake San Antonio for this great event.
  • 05/20 Ironman California.  This is the first year of the event held in San Diego.  The bike is a two loop course through camp Pendelton.  The run is a two loop course near the coast.  Even though the event is filled, it is not too late to volunteer.
  • 05/21 Southbay Triathlon.  It boasts one of the "freshest" swims in the Uvas Reservoir.

June

  • 06/?? Danskin Triathlon.  This triathlon is a women's only event.  The event organizers make a big effort to support each of the participants.   It is a little longer than a sprit distance tri.
  • 06/25 San Jose International Triathlon.  This in an olympic distance event held in South San Jose. It has one of the fastest bike courses in Northern California. (i.e. only one pretty small hill).

 

July

  • 07/9 Vineman half ironman.  This and Wildflower are the two half ironman events in Northern CA.  The vineman boasts a ride and run through beautiful wine country.  The swim is in Johnson's beach in Guerneville.  This year the half and full ironman will be held on different days.
  • 07/30 Ironman USA.   This is the second year that this event is held in Lake Placid, NY.  The bike course is the hilliest of the north american WTC Ironman events.  The swim is in the beautiful Lake Placid.

August

  • 08/12 Vineman Full ironman. This year the full and half Vinemans will be held on seperate days.  The vineman full has a two loop swim, two loop bike, and a multiloop run.  Santa Rosa's hot  weather can make this event even more challenging.
  • 08/19 Hi-Tech Adventure Race.  Last year, the club members that entered the event had a blast.   It was a combination kayak, mtn bike, run, and "special" events.   The event is held in Sacramento.  Looking for a multisport event other than swim, bike run? This is it.
  • 08/13 Catfish Open Water Swim.  This 1.2 or 2.4 Mile swim is in the Lexington Reservior in Los Gatos.  The bike ride back home is optional.  This is the traditional tune up swim for the IMC bound club members.
  • 08/27 Ironman Canada.  This is arguably the best Ironman events for age group atheletes.  The town really gets behind the event and makes you feel truly special.
